Who is allowed to participate in the program?
5th through 8th grade students who are considering attending Luther South are welcome.
When are visits scheduled during the school year?
Visits are scheduled individually with the recruitment office anyday regular school day during the year. Shadow Days start December 3rd, 2007.
When do I register?
You can register by calling our recruitment office at 773-737-1416 extension 2110 least two days prior to the visit. If you are missing a day at your elementary school, please notify your school that you will be shadowing at Luther South.
How long can I stay?
Students are welcome to spend the entire school day at Luther South. The student will meet their shadow in the main office of the school at 7:55 am. Classes begin at 8:00 am.
How do I pick my guide?
A parent may request a Luther South student to be a guide or we will assign a guide. Freshmen do not serve as guides. High School transfer students cannot shadow without the permission from our registrar, Ms. Hoth.
What should I wear?
We ask that all 5th through 8th grade students who are participating in the Shadow Program dress appropriately. Causal dress, slacks and skirts are acceptable, but no halter tops, tank tops, or sweats may be worn.
Do I need to bring any money?
A FREE lunch certificate will be provided, if your guide has lunch during the student's visit.
What time is school over?
School ends at 2:55 p.m.
